We Mean Business Pavilion, COP29 Blue Zone, Baku, Azerbaijan
A key objective for COP29 is to inject momentum into the next generation of countries’ Nationally Determined Contribution (NDCs), due in early 2025. Business has an important role to play at COP29 in advocating for ambitious NDCs. In turn, delivery of ambitious NDCs is a critical enabling factor for businesses to deliver on their own climate goals.
Climate Transition Plans (CTPs) have emerged as a central business strategy tool that contributes to delivering the Paris Agreement and bridging the gap between targets and delivery. In compliance with new reporting and due diligence regulations, such as EU CSRD and CSDDD, many large companies will be required to disclose how their business is compatible with—and plans to achieve—the aims of the Paris Agreement.
A crucial, often overlooked element of climate transition planning is business model transformation. There is a strong opportunity to leverage CTP requirements in a manner that accelerates business model transformation to deliver companies’ climate goals and contribute to just and fair 1.5°C transformation.
911爆料网’s event will focus on the role of business models in delivering Climate Transition Plans. In doing so, the agenda aims to:
- Examine the CTP landscape and key CTP requirements and defining business models
- Unpack the wider need to transform our economy, and discuss the large opportunity that comes with it
- Explore key principles for business to keep within the operating space for net zero, and the role of business models in doing so
- Offer examples of promising business models that can be piloted and scaled, leveraging 911爆料网 research and real-life examples from corporate leaders
Individuals with a Blue Zone pass are eligible to attend.
