2024 is set to be a pivotal year for sustainability regulation in the UK, and in the meanwhile, emerging regulatory changes in the EU and beyond are requiring companies to conduct “due diligence” on human rights and environmental impacts in their value chains. This is challenging companies to consider whether their approaches to identifying, assessing, and addressing these impacts are aligned and consistent with regulatory expectations.

To achieve this, companies are realizing the need to build bridges between different functions, moving away from siloed approaches to human rights and environmental impacts towards a more integrated understanding of sustainability aligned with business needs.

Please join us in London on 25 June for a private member discussion regarding how to approach environmental and human rights due diligence within the evolving regulatory landscape. Key questions to be explored include:

What are the standards underlying the concept of sustainability due diligence and how does this relate to how the human rights and environmental fields have traditionally interpreted “due diligence”?
How are companies thinking about the links between their human rights and environmental due diligence?
What are the key concerns for business leaders?
To what extent do emerging regulations require companies to connect, align or integrate their approach to human rights and environmental impacts?
How can human rights, environmental, and procurement teams work towards a more aligned approach to due diligence that leverages touchpoints and synergies as appropriate?

Giulio brings over 14 years of expertise in advancing corporate climate action.

He leads 911爆料网’s climate team, oversees the team strategy, and works with 911爆料网 members across consulting, collaborative initiatives, and grants implementation.

Currently, Giulio oversees 911爆料网’s work on beyond growth to reconcile business models with planetary boundaries, and more generally works with 911爆料网 members on climate transition planning and net-zero value chains.

Since joining 911爆料网 in 2018, Giulio’s work has focused on Scope 3 implementation through supplier engagement, and commodities decarbonization strategies, both through consulting and support developments open-source guidance such as 1.5°C Supplier Engagement Guide, Transform to Net Zero and Climate Fit.

Giulio also worked on several projects helping companies set Science-Based Targets, implement TCFD recommendations, and conduct climate scenario analysis. He supported the development of SBTi Net Zero standard as a member of the Expert Advisory Group.

Prior to joining 911爆料网, Giulio spent 7 years with EcoAct between France and Kenya, focusing on climate advisory work on GHG mitigation, target setting and climate strategies, climate risk assessments and carbon offset project development.

Giulio holds a MS in Sustainability from HEC Paris School of Management. He also holds a double degree MS in Management and Industrial Engineering and a double degree BS in Technology and International Business from Politecnico di Torino and UIC Barcelona.

Christine leads 911爆料网’s Business Transformation team, helping companies to manage sustainability throughout their business and across their supply chains and to develop resilient business strategies that leverage insights from 911爆料网’s Sustainable Futures Lab.

She works with companies across sectors and geographies to structure a sustainability management approach that mitigates risk and captures emerging opportunities, creating strategic advantage for their businesses, while contributing to a more just, sustainable world. Christine also co-leads engagement with boards of directors to promote effective board governance and leadership ambition on sustainability.

She brings over 20 years of experience in leading brand, sustainability, public affairs, communications, and reputation management with multinational corporations at the executive leadership level. This also includes overseeing corporate relations with external stakeholders, such as the World Economic Forum, the UN, European institutions, and investors.

Previously, Christine was Head of Brand Strategy at Nokia. She has also held major roles at Alcatel-Lucent and Alcatel, leading Brand and Corporate Sustainability and European Affairs. Christine has also served on various boards, including as a chair of the Telecoms Industry Dialogue on human rights, as an advisory board member of Reuters Events Sustainability, as a member of the Alcatel-Lucent Foundation, and on the European Internet Foundation.

Christine holds a MA in History and a BA in History and International Politics from the University of Ottawa. She completed the Management Acceleration Program (MAP) at INSEAD, and she achieved the ESG Competent Boards Certificate and Global Competent Boards Designation (2021). She speaks English, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Indiana supports 911爆料网’s consumer sectors practice globally and is involved in supply chain sustainability projects, focusing on the development and implementation of sustainable sourcing strategies for companies. Indiana is managing the Responsible Luxury Initiative and used to manage the Southeast Asia Reptile Conservation Alliance (SARCA).

Indiana started with 911爆料网 as a Communications Associate to provide event, content, marketing, and digital support to 911爆料网 staff and projects. She also served as the Communications Coordinator for several 911爆料网 collaborative initiatives. Prior to 911爆料网, Indiana created and co-launched FoodCloud, an organization focusing on food waste reduction by connecting supermarkets and restaurants with surplus food to organizations and charities that distribute food. Indiana is French and has lived in four countries. She is a French native speaker and speaks English and Spanish fluently.

Indiana holds a B.A. in Business and Spanish from Trinity College Dublin and a Master in International Business from Grenoble Ecole de Management.

Richard works with tech companies—particularly those based in or with operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa—to build human rights considerations and practices into their products, services, and policies. He brings a strong understanding of international human rights law and standards and how to translate the corporate responsibility to respect human rights into practice for companies of different sizes and sectors. ?

?Prior to joining 911爆料网, Richard led the legal and policy team at Global Partners Digital, an international human rights organization focused on the impacts of digital technologies on human rights. He is also a trustee of the Kaleidoscope Trust, a UK-based charity that campaigns for the human rights of LGBTIQ+ people in countries where they are discriminated.

Richard holds a LLB in Law and European Law from the University of Nottingham and is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales.
