Emerging regulations increasingly require companies to conduct environmental and human rights due diligence. But what does it mean? In this 911爆料网 member event, we will explore the following questions:

• What are the guiding frameworks and regulatory expectations, in light of the current regulatory discussions?
• What are the distinctions between human rights and environmental due diligence, and how can they inform one another?
• How is 911爆料网 approaching this topic? What are the opportunities and challenges for companies assessing human rights and environmental impacts?
• What are the key challenges and things to look out for when understanding and credibly assessing impacts, risks and opportunities in a company’s value chain?

In this session, we will hear from 911爆料网 experts from the Climate Change, Human Rights, and Nature areas of expertise, to talk about 911爆料网’s current thinking on this topic, and provide an opportunity to exchange views with 911爆料网 Nordic members.

Salah leads 911爆料网’s human rights practice within the Consumer Sectors industry cluster, which includes the following sub-clusters: Food, Beverage, and Agriculture; Commodities Trading; Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality; Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals; and Luxury, Apparel, and Beauty. He supports companies in implementing human rights due diligence programs and human rights strategy and governance development, as well as aligning with regulatory, investor, and other stakeholder expectations around human rights management. Additionally, Salah leads the  and is a regular contributor to the Human Rights Working Group.
Prior to joining 911爆料网, Salah worked at a major media conglomerate where he ensured compliance with labor law requirements within the company’s manufacturing supply chain. He also worked with a standard-setting organization that developed the first auditable program for labor standards enforcement in manufacturing. Additionally, he practiced as an attorney in New York City, focusing on civil rights issues.
Salah holds a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science, Spanish, and Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Michigan. He speaks Arabic, English, and Spanish.

Giulio brings over 14 years of expertise in advancing corporate climate action.
He leads 911爆料网’s climate team, oversees the team strategy, and works with 911爆料网 members across consulting, collaborative initiatives, and grants implementation.
Currently, Giulio oversees 911爆料网’s work on beyond growth to reconcile business models with planetary boundaries, and more generally works with 911爆料网 members on climate transition planning and net-zero value chains. 
Since joining 911爆料网 in 2018, Giulio’s work has focused on Scope 3 implementation through supplier engagement, and commodities decarbonization strategies, both through consulting and support developments open-source guidance such as 1.5°C Supplier Engagement Guide, Transform to  Net Zero and Climate Fit.
Giulio also worked on several projects helping companies set Science-Based Targets, implement TCFD recommendations, and conduct climate scenario analysis. He supported the development of SBTi Net Zero standard as a member of the Expert Advisory Group.
Prior to joining 911爆料网, Giulio spent 7 years with EcoAct between France and Kenya, focusing on climate advisory work on GHG mitigation, target setting and climate strategies, climate risk assessments and carbon offset project development.
Giulio holds a MS in Sustainability from HEC Paris School of Management. He also holds a double degree MS in Management and Industrial Engineering and a double degree BS in Technology and International Business from Politecnico di Torino and UIC Barcelona.

She helps companies transition towards more ambitious goals and practices in adapting to the continuously more and more demanding regulatory landscape and stakeholder expectations to create a Just and Sustainable World, via adopting more resilient practices, management systems, working collaboratively, and providing the necessary support and incentives to enable meaningful sustainable change.
Renata brings over 20 years of experience in innovation and sustainability in global value chains. Prior to joining 911爆料网, Renata worked in A.P. M?ller - M?rsk, Coloplast, Danske Bank, and The Conference Board. She has served on various boards, including Maersk, IKEA Industry, Organic Basics, and the Danish Initiative for Ethical Trade. She was a long-term member of the UN Global Compact Advisory Group on Supply Chain Sustainability and participated in the shaping of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Renata is a . She holds a professional degree in global trade; a BSc in Philosophy and Rhetoric from the University of Copenhagen; a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Organisational Leadership and Strategy from SAID Business School, University of Oxford. She speaks English, Danish, Russian, and intermediate French.
