This climate summit—set against the backdrop of significant global unrest and geopolitics—will demand courageous leadership and radical collaboration to limit long-term global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

To start, the first global stocktake will be completed by COP28, where countries assess their climate progress toward meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement and jumpstart the development of their next climate pledges.
